Week by Week Pregnancy: 40 - 42 Weeks

During these weeks, your baby is fully ready for birth and has grown to about the size of a watermelon. Your baby’s skin is pink and plump, and their hair and nails may have grown longer. Due to limited space in the womb, your baby’s movements might have slowed, but they should still be active.

For the expectant mother, these weeks can be filled with anticipation and excitement. It’s important to closely monitor signs of labor, such as regular contractions, the breaking of water, and a tightening sensation in the uterus. If labor hasn't started by the 42nd week, your doctor may consider inducing labor or scheduling a cesarean section. The time has come to finally hold your baby!
