Non-progressive labor in the first stage of labor.

When instrumental delivery such as vacuum or forceps is not possible In case of cord prolapse

Elective Indication

Placenta previa (placenta settling in the cervix).

During labor, the leading part of the baby is not the head but the breech-hand-arm parts of the baby.

Fetal distress in the antenatal period.

Previous classical caesarean section.

Lack of head development of the leading baby in multiple pregnancies

Partial Indications

Breech presentation,

preterm birth

Various maternal medical illnesses, ,

bad obstetric history,

The mother's request for a cesarean section.

Complications after Caesarean section

Bleeding

Infection - This is less of a problem with the use of prophylactic antibiotics.

Thrombosis - Very rare when appropriate anticoagulants are used in the high-risk patient.

Ileus is a rare complication after cesarean section with spinal anesthesia because patients do not starve for a long time and mobilize quickly.

Childbirth after Caesarean section

The indication for repeat cesarean section depends on the indication for cesarean section in the first delivery and a detailed history of the previous delivery should be taken.

In cases with a previous cesarean section, it is recommended that the next mode of delivery should be cesarean section, but 70% of cases with a previous cesarean section can deliver normally in the next pregnancy. In 0.5% of these cases, uterine scar rupture may occur; therefore, labor should be closely monitored.
